Utopia 2.0: Social medias downfall (and please, let it happen)
I’ve never liked social medias so far but I have to admit these late days, I can’t even open any app.
It’s almost like being allergic to this very blue but yet aggressive light without mentioning the tons of ads, photos, influencers, products… Everything is so dramatic, viral, sterile debates, millennials botched faces, virtual fights for rights… And a lot more.
At the very beginning of internet, it was all about discovery and excitement. Even googling was a thing! I remember having complete afternoons blogging or chatting with strangers. I also remember the sound of the dial up when connecting to internet. Everything about the internet was such an experience!
However, I think we’ve seen too much, and we’re over about that so-called technology that used to help. It’s like we’ve reached the limit.

There’s a huge phenomena currently running on social media, which was brought by social media itself: Self-proclamation led by Entrepreneurial freedom. And I don’t know what to think about it. Because I see tons of people, claiming an expertise without even the diploma or skills that goes along. Guess what? Those scammers hide almost in every field.
Obviously, some days, I find it great that everyone has its chance to do whatever they want while breaking the glass ceiling people used to fight for years.
And then, I quickly change my mind when I see those “entrepreneurs”. It feels like it’s a gathering of all the people of the society that couldn’t find their place. All the lost souls. But it’s also the gathering of (for some of them) the dumbest people on earth. And again, Internet gave them a place to feel legitimate.
